Figurative Language
March 25, 2006 at 8:10 am | In Figurative Language | Comments OffDuring Term 1, Year 8 students have been exploring the use of figurative language in their writing. We started with some simple forms such as alliteration and assonance, then moved onto more challenging forms such as similes, metaphors and personification.
Many students enjoyed the way that they could manipulate their own writing for a purpose. This particular topic seemed to unwrap the mystery of writing and it was like a secret they had finally been told.
I have personally enjoyed teaching this topic, and seeing the writing skills of the students developing, along with their enthusiasm and pride in their own creations. I hope you will also enjoy sharing the work they have done.
